• CJPF/SC: XLPE insulated PO outer sheathed shipboard medium voltage power cable

• CJPF86/SC: XLPE insulated PO inner sheathed tinned copper wire braided armored PO outer sheathed cable

• CJPF96/SC: XLPE insulated PO inner sheathed galvanized steel wire braided armored PO outer sheathed cable

Rated voltage levels are 3.6/6kV, 6/10kV and 8.7/15kV, with a maximum conductor temperature of 90°C. Size coverage is 1 core from 25mm2 to 240mm2 and 3 cores from 25mm2 to 185mm2, for example 1x35, 1x95, 1x240, 3x70, 3x120 and 3x150.

The type approval is based on the following standards:

• IEC 60092-354: medium voltage shipboard power cables

• IEC 60092-350 and IEC 60092-360: general construction, test methods and materials for shipboard cables

• IEC 60228: conductors of insulated cables

• IEC 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-3-22 Category A: flame retardance

• IEC 60754-1/2: halogen free performance

• IEC 61034-1/2: low smoke emission

Type test reports referenced in the certificate include CT16-3471-6 for CJPF86/SC 3.6/6kV 1x35 and CT16-3471-5 for CJPF96/SC 8.7/15kV 3x150, both dated 18 September 2016. Cable marking is provided in accordance with IEC 60092-354, including manufacturer identification, rated voltage and construction details. The manufacturer has provided a declaration that the product contains no asbestos.

Service Restrictions

Unit certification is not required for this product under the covered intended service. Electric propulsion cables are excluded and require separate unit certification with dielectric and insulation tests witnessed by the surveyor. Cable test records are maintained and submitted upon request by ABS.

Application

This approval applies to CJPF Series medium voltage power cables used in high voltage power distribution systems on ABS classed vessels and offshore units, such as main power feeders, transformer connections and distribution systems above 1kV.
