Product Details

The CJPF/SC series is a screened medium voltage power cable range designed for shipboard power distribution where 0.6/1kV construction is no longer sufficient. Rated from 3.6/6kV up to 12/20kV, it combines a fully screened XLPE insulation system with a halogen-free SHF1 thermoplastic sheath in standard red color, flame tested to IEC 60332-3-22 Category A. It is the non-armored screened option of the CJPF family, specified for fixed MV installations in trays, pipes and through bulkheads and decks. Construction follows the IEC 60092 series framework, with class approval availability confirmed per type and project.

Product Overview

CJPF/SC cables cover the common medium voltage steps used in marine power systems: 3.6/6kV, 6/10kV, 8.7/15kV and 12/20kV. They are specified where circuit length, fault level or equipment rating exceeds low voltage limits — main switchboard feeders, generator and transformer connections, propulsion and thruster supply, and bow thruster circuits.

The construction is a classic screened MV system: stranded annealed copper conductor, extruded semiconductive conductor screen, XLPE insulation per IEC 60092-360, extruded semiconductive insulation screen with copper tape over it, and a halogen-free flame retardant SHF1 thermoplastic sheath. No armor is applied — where mechanical protection is required, choose the armored family types CJPF86/SC (tinned copper wire braid) or CJPF96/SC (galvanized steel wire braid).

Typical three-core sizes include 3x25, 3x35, 3x50, 3x70, 3x95 and 3x120 at 3.6/6kV, with 3x35 and 3x50 common at 6/10kV and 3x50 or 3x70 at 8.7/15kV and 12/20kV. Other cross-sections and core layouts are engineered against the project cable schedule, with exact dimensions stated in the type TDS.

Key Features / Construction

  • Stranded annealed copper conductor (STC), IEC 60228 class 2

  • Extruded semiconductive conductor screen for uniform electrical stress distribution

  • XLPE insulation per IEC 60092-360, 90°C continuous conductor temperature

  • Extruded semiconductive insulation screen with copper tape metallic screen

  • Halogen-free flame retardant SHF1 thermoplastic inner sheath and outer sheath (PF), standard color red

  • LSHF flame retardance tested to IEC 60332-3-22 Category A

  • Non-armored construction for fixed installation in cable trays, pipes and through bulkheads

  • Meter marking and full type identification printed on the sheath

Standards & Certifications

  • IEC 60092-360 (XLPE insulated shipboard power cables framework)

  • IEC 60228 (conductors)

  • IEC 60332-3-22 (bunched flame retardance, Category A)

  • IEC 60754 / IEC 61034 halogen and smoke limits applicable to the SHF1 compound

Type approval from classification societies including CCS, DNV, ABS, LR, BV and RINA is available for applicable types and confirmed per project against certificate scope — approval status is stated on each type's TDS rather than assumed. Refer to the Certifications page or contact us with your society requirement.

Applications

  • Main and emergency switchboard feeders on commercial vessels

  • Generator and transformer connections in engine rooms

  • Propulsion, thruster and large pump motor supply circuits

  • Offshore support vessels and platform topside MV distribution

  • Retrofit and repair projects matching existing CJPF/SC cable marking

  • Shipyard panel builders and marine switchgear OEM supply chains

Why Choose Anhui Tiankang

  • Screened MV discipline. Semiconductive layers, copper tape screen and partial discharge testing are maintained in-house for the full CJPF family.

  • Correct variant selection. We help you decide between the non-armored CJPF/SC and the armored CJPF86/SC or CJPF96/SC based on the installation route, mechanical exposure and class requirements.

  • Approval-first quoting. Approval availability per type is verified before quotation, so class comments do not delay your delivery.

  • Cable schedule matching. Send your schedule and we map each line to the correct construction, voltage and size.

  • Documented supply. TDS, routine test reports and marking samples accompany each batch on request.

Selection Guide / Buying Considerations

1. Confirm the system voltage from the single-line diagram — 3.6/6kV, 6/10kV, 8.7/15kV or 12/20kV.
2. Size the conductor from load current, route length and permitted voltage drop; provide motor rating and cable run length for feeder calculations.
3. Decide on armor. For fixed runs in protected trays, CJPF/SC is typically sufficient; for deck crossings, machinery spaces or impact-prone routes, compare CJPF86/SC (TCWB) and CJPF96/SC (GSWB).
4. Confirm flame and class requirements — CJPF/SC is supplied as LSHF, IEC 60332-3-22 Cat. A; state your class society so approval scope can be verified.
5. Define installation details — tray fill, gland plates, bending radius and any vertical run requirements.
6. Specify quantity, drum lengths and destination port for packing and freight planning.

FAQ

Q1: What does the "/SC" designation mean?
The cable is supplied as low smoke halogen free (LSHF) flame retardant, tested to IEC 60332-3-22 Category A in the bunched configuration. The TDS of each type states the exact test report references.

Q2: Is CJPF/SC screened or armored?
CJPF/SC is a fully screened, non-armored cable: each core carries an extruded semiconductive conductor screen, XLPE insulation and an extruded semiconductive insulation screen with copper tape over it. Where armor is required, the family offers CJPF86/SC (tinned copper wire braid armor) and CJPF96/SC (galvanized steel wire braid armor).

Q3: Which voltage levels are standard for this series?
3.6/6kV, 6/10kV, 8.7/15kV and 12/20kV. Other steps can be discussed for project requirements.

Q4: Can you support class type approval for this series?
Approval from CCS, DNV, ABS, LR, BV and RINA is available for applicable types and confirmed per project against certificate scope. Tell us your society and we will verify before you order.

Q5: How do I request the TDS and a quotation?
Use the contact page to send your cable schedule or the required type, voltage and size. TDS and test report references are provided with the quotation.
