Type Designation Guide
Per the certificate enclosure: CH for insulated shipboard control and instrumentation cables, J for XLPE insulation, PJ for cross-linked polyolefin, PF for thermoplastic polyolefin, and P for screening — pair to pair shielding, total shielding, or pair to pair shielding plus total shielding, using tinned wire, copper wire or aluminum foil. Outer protection digits: 8 for copper or tinned copper wire braid armour, 9 for galvanized steel wire braid, 5 for cross-linked polyolefin outer sheath, 6 for thermoplastic polyolefin outer sheath, 0 for no outer sheath. Flammability codes: SC for bunched cable flame retardant low smoke halogen free, NC or NSC for bunched cable flame retardant fire resistant low smoke halogen free.
