Type Designation Guide

Per the certificate enclosure: CK for shipboard control cable, J for XLPE insulation, E for EPR insulation, PJ for cross-linked polyolefin, PF for thermoplastic polyolefin, F for polychloroprene rubber, and P for total shielding using tin-plated wire, copper wire or aluminum foil. Outer protection digits follow the same scheme as the power cable certificate: 8 for copper or tinned copper wire braid armour, 9 for galvanized steel wire braid, 5 for cross-linked polyolefin outer sheath, 6 for thermoplastic polyolefin outer sheath, 0 for no outer sheath. Flammability codes: DA single cable flame retardant, SA bunched flame retardant, NA or NSA bunched flame retardant fire resistant, SC bunched flame retardant low smoke halogen free, NC or NSC bunched flame retardant fire resistant low smoke halogen free.

Testing and Documentation

Type testing is documented through China National Centre for Quality Supervision and Test of Electric Wire and Cable reports CT16-3471-1, CT16-3473-1/2/3/4 and Shanghai Intelligent Service and Technology reports TN24-1615E, TN24-1616E and TN24-1617E. An asbestos-free declaration and surveyor-signed routine test reports are filed with RINA.
